Pets

Carmi suggested we share pet pictures this week, see http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2014/05/thematic-photographic-293-pets.html

The snapshot below also qualifies for a #tbt (Throwback Thursday - ok almost Thursday) since it is from about 1969 or 1970.

This is near our vacation house at Lake Sara.

Go Way Back

Carmi proposed we "Go Way Back" this week, so I dug through some family photos I scanned in a while back and found this one.

That's me in the blue coat with white head, with my two brothers, my mom, and a close family friend. We're waiting for the bus to pick us up in town (Aspen) and take us to the ski slopes (probably Aspen Highlands). I'd put money on my dad being behind the camera.

Check out Carmi's page for links to more "way back" pictures.

We'll also count this as a #throwbackthursday post.

Emptiness

Carmi's Thematic Photographic this week is "Emptiness" and I've had this picture in my mind since I read his post. I just didn't take this picture until this morning.

Bittersweet, not the chocolate-that-was, but the fact that it is empty, set against the memory of the lovely surprise of receiving it (on our anniversary early this month).

Three today. I had a lot of brain cycles available while shoveling snow.

I didn't mean to participate, but since I have, here are the haiku I have written so far this year. Read more about #nahaiwrimo here: https://sites.google.com/site/nahaiwrimo/home

Jan 31 (I got an early start):

shadows tiptoe on cubicle walls five p.m. Friday

Feb 1 (a two-fer):

five - no, six squirrels romp above melting snow

Like groundhogs men crept out to stand on the ice.

Feb 2:

She steps back and melting mud pulls her boot; she slows down.
