3WW 76

[Three Word Wednesday today give us rest, sidewalk, twice.]

I raced to the store for some rice,
and I ran out of gasoline, twice!
On the sidewalk I slipped
and my slacks, they got ripped.
Oh, a well-needed rest would be nice!

ha! Thanks, and no - this is 100% fiction!

well, a well-needed rest would be nice, but completely unconnected to the other lines in the poem.

I hope you got ice, too - cute limerick.

Hi, Sue. Sounds like I needed ice, no? In fact, I think I like that better than "rice." Perhaps a re-write is in the future here!

I admire your abilities to be lighthearted and to write lymerics. There's a real talent for meter and rhyme here.

Thanks, Christine. I think the knack for meter may be related to all the singing I have done - sort of like beats in a measure.

I enjoyed this. I need that rest too!

Thanks, Gautami. I think it is shaping up to be that kind of month!

And I bet you cursed thrice :-)

Good one, anthony. If my readers keep this up, I'll have enough rhyming end-words to write a second stanza!

This could easily have happened to me in real life.

sister AE said...

Oh, no, TC, surely not!

Excellent limerick!

One of those look-around-and-hope-no-one-saw-me moments :)

Thanks, Bone.
