[Read Write Poem asked us to repeat ourselves - well maybe just a little. Here's what I came up with. Others are repeating themselves here.]
Vacation
When asked to contribute on Friday
treats nicely arranged on a tray,
I am not insincere
to say (full of good cheer)
I will be on vacation that day.
And people have asked me to steer
the committee that meets every year
about deadlines and dough
and the length of the show,
but I'll be on vacation, I fear.
The bathtub at home drains too slow
and I'm nervous that mildew will grow.
I should tend to the leak
with a careful technique.
Whoops! I'll be on vacation, you know.
March weather is looking quite bleak,
and my efforts to smile are just meek.
I watch clouds that are gray
and I schedule some play.
Hey, I'll be on vacation next week!
OK – not exactly next week, but I am going on a short vacation mid-month. But "month" is harder to rhyme!

Fun and playful: hooray for vacation!
Thanks, chicklegirl. I wished I had some more serious line to "make people remember" but it just wasn't coming to me this week.
It's nice to hear an upbeat, fun poem. I'm going to have my husband read it– he works all the time!
hi, Christine. Thanks.
lol This is great!
A fun limerick poem! Some cool rhymes, too! Leak and technique.
Vacations are so necessary!
Thanks, pepek.
Hello, Linda. Thanks. This week I can concentrate at work (mostly). Next week - I'm not so sure!
that was so fun.. in a "ha ha" kind of way... loved it...
I am so ready for vacation that it is ridiculous. I am so sick of ice storms and walking like a penguin. I want some SPRING in my veins.
Hi, paisley. Glad you like it.
Hello, Maria. Hang in there - spring is coming.
Well, it was a little holiday reading that :-)
Great fun. Loved it.

Hello, Milou. Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. My muse sometimes sends me light and sometimes dark, but I take the poems as they come!
