Making Mistakes
Yesterday is history.
I look toward tomorrow.
To spend today just looking back
would lead me right to sorrow.
I know the past has happened,
for I was there at the time,
but I can't change what I did then,
not with millions nor a dime.
I can only say I'm sorry,
and I'll not do that again.
It was a simple blunder
not a grievous mortal sin.
I look toward the future
and I don't brood on the past.
By learning from my errors
I know my fate is not yet cast.
[The first line "Yesterday is History" is from Emily Dickinson]
